Clare Hurley
About Clare
Clare is an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with over 20 years’ experience working in both NHS and private settings. She is BABCP-accredited and works with adults, children, young people, and families.
Clare supports people with a range of difficulties, including low mood, anxiety, worry, OCD, trauma and post-natal difficulties. She offers a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where clients feel listened to and understood. Building trust and a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of her work.
Many of the challenges Clare works with are very common, and therapy can help you make sense of what’s happening and find ways forward that feel manageable. She uses a range of evidence-based approaches, tailored to each individual, to support meaningful and lasting change. Clare also has extensive experience working with neurodivergence, including ADHD, and adapts her approach to suit each person’s strengths and needs.
When working with children, young people, and families, Clare takes a child-centred approach while working closely with parents and carers. She offers practical, down-to-earth strategies that can be used in everyday life, while ensuring the young person’s voice remains central. As a parent herself, she understands the realities and challenges of family life.
“I believe that with the right support, understanding, and tools, positive change is possible — even when things feel overwhelming — and that therapy can help people reconnect with hope and confidence in themselves.”
