About Andrew
Andrew is a HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Certified Children’s Accelerated Trauma Treatment (CATT) Practitioner, with over 20 years’ experience working with children, young people, adults and families across education, foster care, mental health, community and private practice settings.
Andrew supports people experiencing a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, stress, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions and challenges associated with autism and ADHD. He has particular experience working with children and young people who have experienced developmental trauma, attachment disruption and other complex emotional and social difficulties.
Andrew takes a warm, collaborative and creative approach, adapting therapy to the individual needs of each client. His practice is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, and he draws on psychodynamic and attachment-based approaches, neuro-affirming approaches, mindful awareness, CBT- and DBT-informed skills, alongside creative therapeutic approaches.
Alongside his clinical work, Andrew has been an Approved Clinical Supervisor since 2013, supporting creative psychotherapists and other therapeutic practitioners through reflective practice, case formulation and clinical consultation. He has also undertaken therapeutic needs assessments and worked collaboratively with schools, foster carers, families and multidisciplinary teams.
Andrew trained in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2002 and later completed a Master of Research in Educational and Social Research at University College London. He has worked in the UK, Singapore and the UAE and has published in the International Journal of Art Therapy.
